Acer introduced the 1825PT and 1825PTZ convertible Tablet PCs

Both Aspire models will allegedly soon start shipping with the 1825PTZ already up for pre-order

Overview

The Taiwan-based computer manufacturer Acer will allegedly start shipping two new convertible Tablets. The high-end 1825PTZ appears to be now available to customers for pre-order with a starting price of €693.15 (about US $939).

Configuration

Aspire 1825PTZ

This model is equipped with an 11.6-inch LCD LED-backlit widescreen with a maximum supported resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels, which will enable customers to watch and enjoy HD 720p videos. Furthermore, the ultra-portable Tablet is powered by a dual-core ultra-low voltage Intel Pentium SU4100 central processing unit with 2MB cache, 10W Max TDP and a clock frequency of 1.3GHz.

The Intel GS45 Express Chipset-sporting device will come with 4GB of internal DDR3 memory and a 250GB mechanical hard drive.  In addition, the 1825PTZ will sport an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics controller with both dedicated and shared video RAM.

The weight of this model is presumably 1.72kg (3.79lbs) with the integrated 6-cell battery, which is good for up to 8 hours on single charge.

The Acer Aspire 1825PTZ sports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 modules, along with three USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI interface and a media card reader slot.

Aspire 1825PT

The 1825PT features a different Intel ultra-low voltage processor, namely the Core 2 Duo SU7300, which has the same clock speed and Max TDP but comes with 3MB of cache. In addition, this model packs the same display and HDD but ships with 3GB of RAM.

Other specs and Availability

Both systems will allegedly ship with a pre-installed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The convertible Tablet PCs will sport a chiclet-style keyboard and a multi-gesture touchpad.
