Category: other notebook news

By: Matthias Bauer

Supply difficulties with the Intel Atom CPU cause a later availability of many low cost notebooks.

The internet news site Digitimes report, that Intel has supply difficulties with its Atom CPU. This delivery bottleneck occurred shortly after the official presentation of the Centrino Atom platform.

These difficulties are problematical for some manufacturers, because they want to introduce their Intel Atom CPU equipped low-cost notebooks in summer. Thus affects notebooks of the manufacturers Acer, Dell, MSI, and Gigabyte. Probably, their laptop releases could become paper launches.

Other manufacturers like Asus and HP based their notebooks on other CPU’s and they like this fact, because they have less competitors.

Intel did not present an official statement on these facts so far.
