Everyone seems to be after releasing tablet these days
French portable computer manufacturer eviGroup has unveiled a new Tablet, and released a few preliminary images of the same. It is of the size of a netbook, sporting a 10.2” display panel with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The touchscreen is resistive, so you might have hard time using it with your fingers. That doesnot mean you can’t use fingers, but on resistive screens it is advisable to use stylus. Connectivity is via the WiFi a/b/g and integrated 3G, and bundles a new “AI UI” called Seline which promises more straightforward access to data.
The tablet is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, along with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard-drive. Evigroup also throws in three USB 2.0 ports, an integrated webcam and microphone, ethernet port and a multiformat memory card reader.
The Pad, as it is called, is expected to retail at under €500 ($745), including Windows 7 that’ll come pre-loaded. Availability is still not known.
