Windows XP Service Pack 3 ready for download
Microsoft releases its probably last big update package for Windows XP. It can be downloaded during the course of the day.
Officially, Microsoft releases its Windows XP Service Pack 3 today for downloading. On the one hand it is going to be available at the download section, and on the other hand it is going to get integrated into the automatic update function.
The build number of the german Service Pack 3 is 5512 and its size is 320 MB. All patches and updates of the last month are included.
Additinally, Microsoft included the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 3.0, the
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.5, the Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 (MSXML6), the Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1, the IPSec Simple Policy Update for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP, the Digital Identity Management Service (DIMS), the Peer Name Resolution Protocol (PNRP) 2.1, and the WiFi Protected Access 2 (WPA2).
