About ViewSonic
The company, initially founded as Keypoint Technology Corporation, changed its name to ViewSonic after it launched the ViewSonic line of color computer monitors.
It is a manufacturing company which manufactures plasma displays, mobile products, HDTV technology, liquid crystal displays, projectors, netbooks, and all in one PCs. It was founded by James Chu in the year 1987.
Viewsonic has approx $1 billion sales worldwide and its headquarters are located at Walnut, California in United States of America.
Latest Offering by ViewSonic
ViewSonic today unveiled a new set of laptops called ViewBook and ViewBook Pro at an event held in Taipei. They were announced just in time considering that tomorrow Microsoft will unveil the new OS.
Looking at the laptops, it seems that Shenzhen Shanzhai makers are not alone in the world to make their computers look like Apple’s products. The Viewbooks clearly look alike to the Apple laptops.
ViewBook 120, 130, and 140
ViewBook is available in 3 versions, 120 (12.1-inch), 130 (13.3-inch), and 140 (14-inch) with price ranging from $676 to $1016 and coming with features like a Celeron or Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB / 320GB hard drives and Windows 7 running in the background.
These ViewBook models will hit the streets on October 30th.
ViewBook Pro
ViewBook Pro is powered by a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor, with a 13.3-inch 1280×800 LED-backlit, Windows 7 Home Premium and weighs only 1.3kgs. It is priced at $1016 and $1078, depending on deferent configurations.
ViewBook Pro also features an interesting interchangeable optical drive / second battery feature. The second battery feature will give you upto 12 hours of battery life and in case you don’t want that extra battery you’ll still have 8 hours of battery backup. The ViewBook Pro is not going to his streets any time before December.
