Asus: Eee PC 1015PEM dual core netbook by Asus launched in US markets

The first Eee PC to sport the dual-core N550, The Eee PC 1015PEM also supports a fast DDR3 memory module


The Eee PC 1015PEM by Asus is the first netbook armed with a 1.5GHz dual core Intel Atom N550 processor unit on a 10-inch screen netbook. The gadget will be launched at various stores including Amazon and J&R.

The other specs accompanying the gadget are DDR3 memory and a hard drive of either 250GB or 320GB storage memory which will depend on the model. The system also features USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.

The color patterns that will be made available for the netbook are red, blue, pink, black, or white.

The Eee PC 1015PEM is coming with Windows 7 Starter Edition and 1GB of RAM. The buyers can choose from three battery options viz. 48Whr, 56Whr, or 63Whr and will depend on the configuration. The overall dimension of the netbook is 10.3″ x 7″ x 1.4″ and has 2.8 pounds of weight and 0.3MP camera as well.

The two models that will be put on display are Eee PC 1015PEM-PU17 and Eee PC 1015PEM-MU17. Between them, the Eee PC 1015PEM-PU17 is the high-end one and will cost $379 and the Eee PC 1015PEM-MU17 will sport lower capacity battery and will be available at a price tag of $349.
