AMDs Griffin slow and with high current consumption?
According to TGDaily, AMDs upcoming Griffin notebook CPU will be slower than a current Core 2 Duo and currently the prototype needs more current than a Turion 64.
The current Griffin prototype should consume more current than the predecessor Turion 64. As the Griffin will be a mixture of the K8 (Turion) and K10 (Phenom) architecture the Griffin won't be as fast as a Core 2 Duo.
The Griffin CPU will be used in conjunction with the RS780M chipset (which should deliver a good 3D performance for an integrated chipset). Together with the CPU AMD calls the platform Puma and it should be available at the "Back to School" season. Still the next Intel platform Montevina (which should also deliver a much faster graphics performance) should also arrive at the end of the summer.
