Siemens presents Gigaset SE68 WiMAX express card

The Gigaset SE68 WiMAX express card is the first WiMAX express card which was presented live. It shall enable data transfer rates up to 20 MBit/sec.

The Gigaset SE68 WiMAX express card by Siemens is the first express card, which supports the 802.16-2005 standard. Furthermore, the card conforms to Wave-2 specifications, including MIMO A and B, and enables Beamforming. This express card shall allow data transfer rates up to 20 MBit/sec, when there is WiMAX network coverage.

The Gigaset SE68 WiMAX express card can be connected to the computer by an express card slot, or when using an adapter connecting to a PC card slot is also possible. Even hooking up to an USB 2.0 port is feasible.

The express card shall be available in summer 2008, but no word about its price so far.
