It is powered by a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M GPU
Maingear, the premier North American builder of high performance custom computers and gaming PCs, has just launched the eX-L 15 gaming notebook. Maingear had earlier launched the eX-L 18 gaming notebook, which it claims to be the world’s most powerful gaming notebook. With the launch of the eX-L 15 gaming notebook, it seems as if Maingear wants to make a mark in both the regular-sized and desktop replacement gaming notebook segment.
The eX-L 15 can be fully customized; it comes with three processor options – a 2.53GHz Intel Core2 Duo P8700 processor, a 2.8GHz Intel Core2 Duo T9600 processor, or a 2.53GHz Intel Core2 Extreme x9300 quad-core processor. This notebook supports up to 8GB of dual-channel DDR3 (1,333MHz) memory which operates at 1,066MHz due to the limitations posed by the chipset. The graphics are fueled by a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 260m GPU that supports both DirectX10 technology and the second-generation PureVideo HD engine. It provides the most advanced and cutting-edge gaming experience.
The eX-L 15 has a mammoth 15.4-inch 1,680x1,050 resolution super clear gloss display which can be upgraded to a 1,920x1200 Matte finish LCD display. Other specs are as follows:
· Up to 500GB SATA2 (Seagate Momentus @7,200rpm) hard drive, up to 256GB Crucial M225 SSD, and up to 160GB Intel X25-M SSD
· HDMI connector
· VGA output port
· Integrated HD TV (ATSC) Tuner (Coaxial) – Optional
· Intel PRO/Wireless 5300AGN and Bluetooth
· DVD or Blu-ray optical drive
· Three USB2.0 ports
· Express Card 34 / 54 Slot
· 2 MiniCard Slots (1st for Turbo Memory Module, 2nd for WLAN)
· 1 IEEE 1394a port

· 7-in-1 media card reader (SD/MS/MSPRO/RS-MMC/MMC)
· Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating system (with free upgrade coupon for Windows 7)
· Blue Illuminated Keyboard with Numeric Pad

The eX-L 15 has another useful feature in the form of Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 (2GB/4GB) that improves overall startup and load times by enabling Windows Vista ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive support. This device has a black brushed aluminum finish on the exterior and it weighs 7.1lbs which is quite heavy for a regular-sized notebook. This machine is available online through www.maingear.com at a base price of $1,899.
