The bulky tablet measures at 28cm with the 10.1-inch screen, and runs Froyo

The rumor of the Toshiba Folio 100 started late last month, and it was only yesterday when the company unveiled this new Android tablet during IFA 2010.

The tablet will run the latest Android 2.2 codenamed Froyo, inside the 760 gm 28 x 18 x 1.4 cm chassis with a 10.1-inch screen. Tear it down and you’ll find an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor inside along with 16GB of internal storage. Toshiba promises a 7-hr battery life.

Android 2.2 in the Folio supports Flash Player 10.1, although I heard many reports of FP being jittery when it comes to playing with Froyo. Let’s hope whatever issues, if any, exist get solved and we get a full Flash-enabled web browser.

There are the usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11n and 3G, with the help of which you can access Toshiba’s own app store. It is not clear whether the Folio 100 will have access of Android marketplace out-of-the-box.

The Toshiba Folio 100 should be available by Q4 this year carrying a price-tag of 300 euros (equivalent to $510).
