Motorola Xoom to be priced at $800

Teaser
Verizon price map shows Xoom price to be at $70 more than the iPad

A recent price map of Verizon wireless gives us the figure by which the upcoming tablet Motorola Xoom will set you back by. The map tells us that Motorola’s maiden tablet will cost $800 with 32GB of storage.

Although prices shown on the map are not known to be final but if they are then the $70 price addition over the Apple iPad might prove to be a pullback for the Xoom in the competition.  The Motorola tablet sure does have its advantages over the iPad in terms of features and performance, but with the second generation iPad coming up these advantages might just fall short.

Even though Verizon’s map shows the pricing period to last between January 21 and July 21, the Motorola Xoom might actually ship by February 14. No doubt the Xoom is modestly priced for its capabilities, but then it’s locking its horns with the current market leader Apple, and so it better be careful.
