Moto G leak shows full specs and price
The holidays are a time for spending, and every OEM wants to get as big a share of the take as they can. Not everyone has a lot of money to spare on a high end smartphone like the Moto X though, so Motorola is prepping a more financially accessible variant – the Moto G.
The new handset features a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 display with Corning Gorilla Glass, a Qualcomm quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, 8 GB of internal storage, Android 4.3, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, a 5 MP back-facing camera that offers 720p video recording, Bluetooth 4.0. Previous rumors also point to a 1950 mAh battery, interchangeable back panels, and possibly even dual-SIM support.
While the phone doesn't look like it will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat, it's probably a fairly safe bet that the update will come to the G sooner rather than later. The news that KitKat is optimized to run on lower-end devices only confirms this.
Firm release details haven't emerged yet, but the leaked poster certainly makes it clear that Motorola is looking at a pre-holiday launch. Prices in the UK are set at an impressively low 134.95 pounds (US$215.95) off contract, meaning Motorola is likely to get its wish and sell a lot of these phones before the end of the year.
