Microsoft confirms Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Formerly known as Redstone, this free upgrade for Microsoft's flagship product will come out this summer, The next big update for Windows 10 has been in the rumor mill for a while but was known as Redstone. Now, it looks like its arrival has been confirmed, except the codename. The next major upgrade for the dominant operating system for PCs will be known as Windows 10 "Anniversary Update" and is set to arrive this summer.

The features of Windows 10 Anniversary Update will include new pen input features, improved support for biometric security, but Xbox One will also get Universal Windows apps and support for the Cortana personal assistant.

While insiders claim Microsoft aims to complete this update in June, the Redmond giant has just released Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 and the Windows 10 "Anniversary Edition" software developer kit. Thanks to this move, programmers can already get to work and take advantage of the over 1,000 new programming interfaces to arrive with the upgrade.as previously rumored.
