New rumors suggest, that the successor to the Surface Pro 4 might come with Thunderbolt 3 port, more storage, Kaby Lake processors and possibly an integrated fingerprint sensor. It might be released as early as Spring 2017.

New rumors surfaced recently that suggest, that the successor to the Surface Pro 4 by Microsoft might receive some welcome enhancements in many aspects of the device. Lets start with the processor. Instead of the trusted Skylake CPU's Microsoft will upgrade the Surface Pro 5 to Intel Kaby Lake processors. We are also expecting the next version of the surface tablet to come with at least 512 GB of storage as standard. A lot of users will be happy to hear that Microsoft is said to finally integrate a USB-C port with full Thunderbolt 3 functionality.

Instead of featuring a replaceable battery, the Surface Pen might charge wirelessly next time around. We are unsure if Microsoft will increase display resolution because that might impact battery life, which is said to be better on the Surface Pro 5 compared to its predecessor. However, we are hearing rumors, that Microsoft might put a patent to good use, that holds the key to integrating a fingerprint sensor under the display for a seamless Windows Hello login procedure. Microsoft is expected to introduce the Surface Pro 5 in Spring of 2017 after the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update.
