The Italian tech company Mediacom has reportedly released a new tablet dubbed Smart Pad 715C that ships with a pre-installed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The slate is now available to customers in Europe and has a relatively appealing starting price of 119.90 (approximately $160).

Weighing just 345grams (0.76lbs), the new Smart Pad packs a Cortex A8-based Boxchip A10 single-core central processing unit with a clock frequency of 1.2GHz. Furthermore, the 715C tablet offers a capacitive multitouch-enabled TFT LCD widescreen (16:9) display that measures 7-inches in diagonal and has a fairly modest native resolution of 800-by-480 pixels.

According to the manufacturer, the slate houses 1GB of DDR3 memory and an SSD with a storage capacity of 4GB, which can be expanded up to 32GB by utilizing the integrated microSDHC card reader slot. In addition, users will be provided with a built-in Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n module, one mini-USB 2.0 port, an HDMI interface and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Mediacom’s new Smart Pad 715C tablet will reportedly also ship with a 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery, a 1.3MP front-facing web camera for video calls and support for SlideMe (an Android market for free and paid apps).
