Although its specs or design are nothing really special, the Movi smartphone makes up for that by integrating a built-in projector that can deliver a 720p image at a size of 12 to 200 inches.

Android smartphones with projectors have been around for a few years already, but they always targeted a small niche of the market. However, even big names tried their luck with such devices, and the Samsung Galaxy Beam that arrived way back in 2012 is probably the most notable one. Now, the time has come for the Movi smartphone to refresh this area of the market.

Created by a San Diego-based company known as Wireless Mobi Solution, the Movi smartphone features a laser pico projector that has a 720p resolution, a contrast ratio of 80,000:1, and a brightness rating of 50 lumens, thus matching the specs of the projector Moto Mod by Motorola. On the other hand, the pico projector integrated into the Movi handset does not make the phone bulky at all.

The Movi smartphone has a MediaTek MT6750V under the hood, next to 3 GB RAM/32 GB storage or 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage, an 8 MP front camera and a 13 MP main image shooter on the back, all powered by a generous 4,000 mAh battery. The 5.5-inch IPS display has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Sadly, the handset does not come with Android Oreo onboard, running Android 7.0 Nougat instead.

Those interested can already purchase the Movi phone for US$599. Strange enough, the official website mentions 128 GB for this price, although there are supposed to be two variants and none with this amount of internal storage. Well, there is one day left to check out the Movi at CES 2018 at the Sands, booth #52827, so maybe you can take a look at it and drop a comment with the accurate specs of the variant that is up for sale nowadays.
