Judging by the leaked results, the new chip is going to deliver really high performance.

MediaTek’s Helio X20, world’s first deca-core mobile SoC, has just been spotted in Geekbench database. Judging by the surfaced benchmark results, the chip is going to deliver really high performance, exceeding that of Snapdragon 820, Kirin 950 or Apple A9.

In multi-core test, Helio X20 scored as much as 7037 points, which is significantly higher than other top-tier SoC’s. Huawei’s Kirin 950 can boast 6245 points, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820’s developer version reached 5400 points and Apple’s A9 only 4578 points.

In single-core performance test, the Helio X20 managed to score 2094 points, which puts the chip in front of Kirin 950 (1871 points) but behind Apple A9 (2576 points) and Snapdragon 820 (2320 points).

The MediaTek Helio X20 was officially announced back in May. The chip features two Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz, four Cortex-A53 cortex running at 2 GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz. It is expected to enter mass-production in the second quarter of 2016.
