A backpack PC is coming for VR afficiocados while the current GS60/GS70 and GT72/GT80 gaming notebooks are getting much-needed updates and major redesigns.

It's not unusual to try and think outside the box, but MSI may have taken the cake with its recent integration of Tobii eye tracking, the Vortex gaming PC, and now the revelation of a gaming PC backpack that will make its debut at Computex next week.

The Taiwanese company has published a short list of its planned announcements:

GS63 Stealth Pro: A thin 15.6-inch gaming notebook with Core i7-6700HQ CPU, GTX 970M GPU, and a redesigned cooling system utilizing five heat pipes for lower core temperatures. The model will succeed the current GS60 Stealth series.

GS73: The 17.3-inch version of the above GS63 that will also be equipped with a GTX 970M GPU and a SteelSeries keyboard with the updated SteelSeries Engine 3 software. True Color display options for more accurate colors will be available alongside ESS SABRE HiFi sound and the updated Nahimic 2.0 software. The model will succeed the current GS70 Stealth series.

GT83 Titan SLI and GT73 Titan SLI: The massive GT80 and popular GT72 will be refreshed with support for up to 3 external displays at 4K each. The GT83 will include support for GTX 980 SLI while the GT73 will include options for either a single GTX 980 or GTX 980M in SLI. Both systems will be VR ready.

Backpack PC: VR headsets may be the new carrot-on-a-stick for gamers, but the cables required for functionality are a tether between the PC and user. Look no further as MSI is looking to solve this issue by creating a PC that can be worn like a backpack. It's the next step up from what Aorus revealed at CES 2016 where the manufacturer stuffed an X7 notebook into a regular backpack for better VR freedom. MSI promises both Core i7 Extreme and GTX 980 options for the unnamed backpack.

New motherboards, desktops with GTX 1080 GPU, keyboards, and mice will also all be presented next week at Taipei from May 31 to June 4. Notebookcheck will be on location to check out the MSI floor and more with up-to-date information and details.
