MSI: the company has launched the FX600MX

The latest addition to the MSI laptops, FX600MX, supposedly comes with an elegant design and essential features. This portable PC is reportedly equipped with an Intel processor, nVIDIA GeForce graphics card, a 15.6-inch wide screen and an HD webcam. In addition, the system runs on Windows 7 OS.

Configuration

This MSI notebook apparently boasts an Intel central processing unit and consumers can choose between a Core i3 and a Core i5 mobile processor. In addition, the laptop can house up to 8GB of DDR3 internal memory as well as a high capacity hard drive – the FX600MX features a 320GB or a 500GB rotating SATA HDD.

Reportedly, this portable computer is equipped with a high definition wide display (16:9) which is 15.6 inches in diagonal and has LED backlighting. Furthermore, the screen is powered by an nVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics controller (ranked 123 on our GPU Benchmark list) which fully supports DirectX 10.1 and has 512MB of video memory as well as 800MHz memory speed.

Connectivity

Users can stay connected to the Internet and other devices thanks to the built-in Ethernet and 802.11 b/g/n wireless network adapters as well as the Bluetooth v2.1+EDR. The FX600MX reportedly comes with two USB 2.0 ports, a Power eSATA (USB combo), a 4-in-1 card reader, a DVD Super Multi optical drive, a VGA interface (for an external monitor) and an HDMI output (so that consumers can watch videos on a TV). In addition, the portable PC boasts a HD webcam (30 fps, 720p) and 2-channel speakers so video conferencing is possible.

Other specs, availability and pricing

This notebook is also equipped with a 6-cell Lithium-ion battery that can reportedly last up to 9.4 hours on a single charge. The weight of the FX600MX is about 2.4kg (approx. 5.3lbs) along with battery and measures 383×249.3×38mm (about 15.1x9.8x1.5 inches). Moreover, the system is powered by a pre-installed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

There is currently no information about availability and pricing of the new MSI FX600MX. However, it is expected to cost about 1,000-1,500 USD.
