15.6” CX640 and CR640 notebooks sporting Sandy Bridge Core i3 processors announced by MSI

MSI’s already shipped their X370, FX420 and GT680 laptops recently and now they’re adding a couple more notebooks to the pile. In a press release by MSI, the company announced their new CX640 and CR640 laptops which are powered by an Intel Core i3 Processor to go along with various other MSI goodies.

Both new laptops come with a 15.6” glossy display with a 1366x768 pixel resolution and an Intel Core i3-2310M processor.  Seeing as both laptops have pretty much the same model number, the CX640 and CR640 only differ with regards to their color and graphics capabilities. The CX640 will come in a silver color and will feature an NVIDIA GeForce GT520M while the CR640 uses an integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics and a black exterior. Otherwise, both notebooks will also come with 4GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, and USB 3.0.

In addition, MSI has also managed to include some nifty features in their latest mainstream notebooks. The laptops will come with a light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brightness depending on conditions, a reinforced hard drive that is placed in the center of the laptop for extra protection and MSI’s Time Stamp technology that automatically backs up and restores data with a single button press.

And while the MSI notebooks were just recently revealed, they appear to be a big hit so far as the $630 CR640 is already listed as “out of stock” on MSI’s online store. However, the CX640 still appears to be available for the price of $680.

A full blown review of the MSI CX640 is currently on the way, so stay tuned.
