Reviews for the MSI GT73VR-6RE16SR451
The heart beats faster. While the majority of notebooks are only equipped with 60 Hz panels, the GT73VR is one of the first systems with a 120 Hz display. MSI does not compromise the other sections, either, and it ships the desktop replacement with numerous features including overclocking. Does the additional price compared to a standard gaming notebook pay off? We will find out.

Being one of the most expensive gaming laptops, you might be doubtful about MSI GT73VR Titan-017. But if you have the money, don’t worry. There’s just nothing it couldn’t do for a serious gamer, thanks to its GTX 1070 graphics, quad-core processor and solid-state drive. One thing to keep in mind is the resolution: Full HD is maximum, it won’t go beyond that. If you’re OK with this, then getting the MSI should be a noteworthy idea for a well-off player!

The MSI GT73VR Titan Pro is one of the most robust portable gaming options on the market. Sure that chassis is a bit bulky, but that space is well utilized to offer an excellent cooling system and space for SLI GPU options. Battery life is weak, but that’s only because the Titan Pro houses power intensive specs that provide excellent performance. With loads of customization options and one of the only built-in 120Hz monitors on the market, the GT73VR Titan Pro is also more than just a collection of expensive specs.

CommentNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Laptop): Pascal based high-end mobile graphics card based on a cut down GP104 (like the GTX 1080) and GDDR5 graphics memory. Successor to the GTX 980M with a 10 Watts higher TDP. Similar to the desktop GTX 1070 performance wise, but with more shaders and lower clock speeds. These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
6820HK: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
