Reviews for the MSI GE600-i5447W7P
Discount-Gamer. A lot of performance for little dough. For 800 Euro there is the surprisingly strong ATI HD5730 (GDDR3), the i5-430M processor and an endless number of connections. Whether or not MSI improves on the much faulted quality of its case will be revealed in our review.

The price/performance ratio on the GE600 is undeniable, and the whole system is very well balanced in terms of the components used, i.e. the processor, ram and graphics card which all work in perfect harmony. The standard HDD is good enough, but not great. I’m sure that a reasonably priced SSD will significantly improve performance, but then you’ll be losing out on a lot of storage. Eventually I’ll have to say that the MSI GE600 is a great bargain for what you’re getting out of it, just don’t play games on your lap!

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730: The HD 5730 is a higher clocked HD 5650 (and therefore not based on the desktop HD 5700 series). It does not support GDDR5 and therfore performs like a middle class graphics card with DirectX 11.
» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
430M:
The Core i5-430M is a middle class dual core CPU that features only 3 MB L3 Cache (compared to the I7-640M) and clocks between 2.26-2.53 GHz (Turbo Mode). Furthermore, VT-d, trusted Execution and AES features are missing in the 430M. Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (Intel HD Graphics with 500-733 MHz) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.

16.0": 16 inch display-variants exist since 2008 and partially got the market share of 15 inch notebooks. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.492 kg: This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI), is a Taiwan based computer hardware manufacturer since 1986 best known for desktop computer motherboards. MSI also designs and manufactures graphics cards, barebone PCs, notebook computers, networking products, servers, multimedia, consumer electronics, and storage devices. MSI, as most Taiwanese computer manufacturers, sells products on OEM/ODM basis. It also sells products worldwide based on its own brand name "MSI". The market share of laptops with the MSI brand is rather low.
82%: This rating is to be considered as average, because the amount of notebooks with better ratings is about equal like the amount with worse ratings.
