Lenovo has launched two new variants of its Legion 5i gaming laptops. One comes with a 17.3-inch 144Hz FHD screen, while the other packs a 15.6-inch 165Hz QHD panel. Other Lenovo Legion 5i specs include an Intel Core i7-11800H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, and more.

Not wanting to miss out on the Intel Tiger Lake-H hype, Lenovo has also refreshed some gaming laptops with new hardware. The Lenovo Legion 5i now comes with the latest Intel processors coupled with Nvidia Ampere graphics cards. Lenovo is yet to reveal the price and availability of the Legion 5i series.

The Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop comes in two screen sizes- 15-inch and 17-inch. Everything else about the notebooks remains the same, though. One can choose between an Intel Core i7-11800H and a Core i5-11400H processor and pair it with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB VRAM, 130W), GeForce RTX 3060 (6GB VRAM, 130W), GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (4GB VRAM, 95W) or a GeForce RTX 3050 (4GB VRAM, 95W). The notebooks support up to 32GB of 3,200MHz DDR4 RAM and 2TB solid-state storage via an NVMe SSD.

One Lenovo Legion 5i variant ships with a 17.3-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) IPS LCD panel clocked at 144Hz. Other features include 400 nits peak brightness and 72% NTSC colour gamut coverage. There is a 60Hz version, too, and its brightness caps out at 300 nits. The other variant features a 15.6-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) 165Hz screen, 3ms response time, 300 nits peak brightness, and covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut. It also supports Nvidia G-Sync. Lenovo also offers a watered-down version of the display with FHD resolution. Lastly, its third iteration reduces the refresh rate to 120Hz.

The Lenovo Legion 5i 15-inch variant ships with a 60Wh battery. Lenovo says it is good for up to 8 hours. There is no word about the 17-inch version's battery yet. Input options on both notebooks are identical, for the most part, and include one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB Type-C port, three USB Type-A ports, one 3.5mm combo audio jack, one HDMI port, an SD card reader and an RJ-45 Ethernet port. It is also worth noting that the 15-inch model doesn't come with an SD card reader. The included 720p webcam comes with a privacy shutter. Lastly, the Lenovo Legion 5i supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
