Basically, Lenovo is offering a sturdy convertible with cool features that aren’t supposed to be in this price range in the first place but raises concerns about the overall performance and durability of the pricier configurations. They do offer more powerful CPUs and a better IPS touch panel, but other things such as the touchpad and screen wobbling might be getting in the way. And our final words are about the cooling system, which scored pretty well in our tests because it kept the internals and the outer chassis cool during the tests and even the CPU didn’t throttle. This and the super silent fan came by a surprise.

Unfortunately, that sense of “ordinary” is one that permeates the Yoga 500 at every turn, with very little to save it. Maybe we’re just immune to the idea of a hybrid computer being special, or maybe we’re just sick of seeing sub-par computer parts being passed to customers for prices that feel like they don’t make a lot of sense.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce 920M: Renamed GeForce 825M Kepler based graphics card (GK208) with sligthly higher clock speed.
NVIDIA GeForce 940M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce 900M series, based on the Maxwell architecture.
AMD Radeon R5 M330: Entry level dedicated graphics card based on a 28nm GCN 2.0 / 1.2 chip supporting DirectX 12, Vulkan and FreeSync.
Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Broadwell): Integrated low-end graphics card (GT1) in some processors of the Broadwell-series.
Intel HD Graphics 510: Integrated GPU (GT1) with 12 EUs found on some low-end Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).
Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrated graphics card (GT2) in the Core processors of the Broadwell U-series (15 W TDP).

Intel Core i5:
5200U: Broadwell-based ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5500 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
6200U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Pentium:
3805U: Broadwell-based ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for entry-level notebooks and subnotebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
4405U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 510 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
6500U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
AMD A-Series:
A8-7410: Quad-core x86 SoC for entry-level devices and sub-notebooks, codenamed Carrizo-L. Based on the Puma+ architecture and integrates a Radeon R5 GPU.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

66.94%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
