Lenovo has announced a refresh of the Yoga 13w Gen 2, a 13.3-inch convertible laptop that will be soon available with AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs. The Yoga 13w Gen 2 also has a 51 Wh battery, plenty of ports and a 16:10 aspect ratio, among other features.

Lenovo has refreshed the Yoga 13w Gen 2, a convertible laptop that the company previously sold with AMD Ryzen 5000 APUs like the Ryzen 5 5625U. According to the company's press release, the Yoga 13w Gen 2 will be available with Ryzen 7000 APUs, although Lenovo has not stated which ones. Given that the Yoga 13w has retained its 'Gen 2' status, we suspect that the APUs on offer will be based on AMD's Cezanne architecture like the Ryzen 5 7530U and Ryzen 7 7730U. In other words, the new Yoga 13w Gen 2 should perform roughly as well as its predecessor.

The new Yoga 13w Gen 2 is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, which covers its 13.3-inch and 16:10 IPS display. For reference, the display outputs at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, offers 300 nits peak brightness and is compatible with an active stylus. Additionally, the machine will be available with up to 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and a 512 GB SSD, which Lenovo powers with a 51 Wh battery. The company adds that the Yoga 13w Gen 2 will be capable of recharging its battery at 65 W. The new Yoga 13w Gen 2 comes with Windows Hello facial recognition, keyboard backlighting and LTE connectivity, but only as optional extras. Lenovo claims that all machines will feature the following I/O, though:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x 1080p webcam
  • 2x 5 MP rear-facing cameras
  • 1x Fingerprint scanner
  • 1x HDMI
  • 1x SD card reader
  • 2x USB Type-A
  • 2x USB Type-C

The new Yoga 13w Gen 2 will be available later this quarter in multiple markets. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed how much the machine will cost, nor in what storage configurations it plans to offer the machine. Lenovo states that the new Yoga 13w Gen 2 is aimed at the education sector, so there could be student-specific configurations.
