Lenovo's IdeaPad V series of desktop replacement laptops are a less expensive and arguably more stylish alternative to its massively popular ThinkPads. The V570 offers good performance and a classy design for a modest outlay. If you're in the market for an affordable laptop for Web surfing, emailing and office stuff, it's definitely worth looking at.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M: Based on the GeForce GT 425M with slightly higher core clock speeds.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Core i5:

2410M:

Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).

2540M: Fast Dual-core processor clocked from 2.6 to 3.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.0) based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

Intel Core i3:

2310M:

Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.1 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).

15.6: 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

2.4 kg:

This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

2.4 kg:

75.67%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
