Leaked GoPro Hero 9 Black unboxing video showcases upcoming €479 action camera
An unboxing of the GoPro Hero 9 Black has surfaced online. Seemingly first published on Weibo before being re-published on Twitter, the video looks to be of a retail unit. The video is just under a minute long, but it goes through the complete unboxing of the upcoming action camera.
Beneath the cardboard packaging lies a hard case, which contains netting for storing accessories and dedicated compartments for the camera, battery and bundled accessories. The video does not show the Hero 9 Black switched on, but past leaks have revealed that GoPro has included a front colour display on this year's model.
Additionally, we get a glimpse at the camera's battery, which has been increased to a capacity of 1,720 mAh. According to Roland Quandt, GoPro will market the Hero 9 Black as offering 30% longer battery life than its predecessor, despite having a 40% larger battery.
The video can be watched on Twitter or YouTube, at least for the time being. We have included some screengrabs below should you video get taken offline. The GoPro Hero 9 Black will probably launch towards the end of this month or in early October. According to Quandt, GoPro will price its upcoming action camera at €479, €49 more than it initially charged for the Hero 8 Black.
