The 6-inch smartphone will carry one of the largest battery packs for a consumer smartphone and will retail for less than $190 USD starting next month.

Chinese smartphone manufacturers are always finding ways to make their designs stand out in the increasingly crowded market. The latest is the 6-inch Shark 1 from Leagoo, which the company claims has the "world's highest capacity Li-Polymer battery" for a smartphone this size at 6300 mAh. In comparison, competing 6-inch devices like the Nexus 6P and 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus have 3450 mAh and 2750 mAh battery packs, respectively.

Despite the dense capacity, Leagoo promises a charging time of just 3 hours from near zero to full for an all-day battery life. The Shark 1 can also be used as a power bank to charge other devices. Note that while the smartphone is not that much thicker than the Nexus 6P (8.5 mm vs. 7.3 mm), it weighs substantially more (241 g vs. 179 g) because of its dense battery.

Outside of the battery pack, core specifications are relatively standard for a mainstream smartphone including its FHD display, 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6753 SoC, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB eMMC with MicroSD support, and 13 MP and 5 MP rear and front cameras, respectively. Dual SIM slots are supported like on most budget smartphones from oversea manufacturers.

Shipments are expected to begin by the end of this month for those who pre-order at the $190 USD starting price.
