LeEco Le Pro 3
Le Eco is a well known Chinese phone manufacturer that produces reasonably price Android smartphones. Its latest addition, the LeEco Le Pro 3 is an affordable but top-performing smartphone, which matches the best phones out there. The Le Pro 3 isn’t the only one in the range, ZTE’s Axon 7 and the OnePlus 3 also offer similar specs for the same price. The LeEco Le Pro 3 features an aluminium unibody look that is very similar to some of the high-end phones such as the iPhone 7 and the HTC 10. It is a design built to look high end. One of the coolest aspects of the phone’s design is that it does not have on-screen buttons. Instead, it has capacitive buttons like the Galaxy S7. The buttons aren’t lit up until they are used. It is a unique aspect of the phone’s design that helps give the device a premium feel. It also keeps the front of the phone totally symmetrical. The display panel itself is edge-to-edge, which means there is no aluminium bezel on either side. However, there is still a slight bezel in the display panel, but at least with the screen off, it doesn’t look like there’s a bezel at all. Just like the OnePlus 3’s display, the Le Pro 3’s display features a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. While this is not as high as a Quad HD resolution, it saves engery and increases the battery life. When it comes to ports, LeEco decided to get rid of the headphones jack. However, LeEco includes a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter. Thus, wired headphones can still be used. This is not something new. Apple did the same thing with its iPhone 7. The volume rocker and power button are on the left side of the phone, and the SIM card tray on the right side. As for specification, LeEco Le Pro 3 packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. This is a pretty good hardware specification for a budget smartphone. The camera on the LeEco Le Pro 3 features a 16 MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. It is capable of 4K UHD video capture and upscale effects, including slow-motion. The Le Pro 3 also offers an 8 MP selfie camera, which is solid enough for selfies or video calls. The phone may be thicker than thinner competitors, but it offers a giant 4,070 mAh battery, which is well worth the extra weight. LeEco also offers Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which means the phone can be fully charged in 15-30 minutes. Phones have progressively gotten more secure over the past few years with the addition of fingerprint sensors, which is a good thing for those who hate having to remember a password or PIN number. The Le Pro 3 also has fingerprint protection that can be used to unlock your device or make mobile payments. Phones like the Le Eco Pro 3 are an important addition to the market as they show us that good phones don’t have to be expensive. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

It'll launch in China on April 14 and, even if it never makes it to the US, will be available internationally through third-party sellers (though likely unsupported with updates).

The LeEco Le Pro 3 is an affordable phone with potential. Consider its aluminium unibody design, the beefy Snapdragon 821 chip, long-lasting battery, and great-sounding stereo speakers and there's plenty to praise.

For the rest, we can only say that LeEco has been able to offer another “best buy” flagship smartphone that, with its features, design and quality, is at the very top of today’s smartphone offer. Given the LeEco Le Max 2 phablet price, which at the time of writing this test is $255.99, it’s not hard to conclude that it is a great opportunity to buy a phablet of excellent quality and high-end performance at a really good price. Compared to its already more than one year old predecessor comes at even more favorable prices, making it a more logical choice to buy.

LeEco Le Pro3 Elite
Before starting with this review, I ask you to think about what elite means to you. Because to me, elite means something special, something that is above normal and superior. You would expect a model that has “Elite” in its name to be not something ordinary or weak, right? But the case with the Le Pro3 Elite is quite the opposite. If you are familiar with the LeEco LePro3 from last year, you would already know that it came with Snapdragon 821 SoC. But with the LePro3 Elite, you get a Snapdragon 820 SoC instead. While the LeEco LePro3 was also know as LeEco X720, this model is known as LeEco X722. To summarize, this model is not a real elite version, instead a bit downgraded version of the model from last year. But, do not let this affect your purchase decision. Because, even if it is downgraded, it has also a very affordable price tag. This model starts from 200$. It is quite cheap for the incorporated hardware. Depending on the model you pick, you get either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. Then you have the option of 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB of eMMC flash drive. The unfortunate thing? You can not expand the storage, since there is no SD slot on the phone. A 16 MP camera is on rear and an 8 MP camera is on front. I can not complain, they are fine, considering the price tag. Do not try to compare it with a Samsung Galaxy S8 camera, let me remind you this device is only 200$. The camera software is not that great. Auto focus has no idea what it is doing, so it is better to use the manual focus. Maybe it is better to use some 3rd party camera applications, but they will be slow. The fingerprint reader is responsive, you will not have any issues here. Since the minimum RAM capacity is 4 GB, the system is quite responsive. Day to day usage is quite good. Heavy users can get around 5 to 6 hours of usage from 4070 mAh battery. This is acceptable and not that bad. If you are a regular user, leaving your phone mostly idle, you can get close to a day of usage. For a 200$ device, it is quite surprising that it follow the trend of leaving the 3.5 mm stereo jack behind. You will need a converter for a 3.5 mm jack. Good news? The sound quality is great. Even the bottom speakers are just fine. I mean, each time I say fine, please consider the price tag. For this price everything you get from this device is excellent and I mean it. Would I use it? I have to admit, I might. I am not a big fan of the Android OS, but 200$ is very cheap for a phone. Hence, I would go for it. One other caveat you have to keep in mind is the OS. The device comes with Android 6.0 which is pretty old and there are no updates coming. Maybe you can find your own solutions, but they will not be offical. Overall, for its price tag, the LeEco LePro3 Elite is a good device that you can consider purchasing. Hands-on article by Ümit Yılmaz GüneşSpecifications
