Although the company declines to comment, multiple sources confirm that the brand that delivered many Bluetooth headphones, wireless speakers, and fitness trackers is now gone and its CEO and many employees moved to Jawbone Health Hub.
Back in 2016, we heard that Jawbone had plans to move away from the consumer market, also moving to the clinical health field and selling its products only to other businesses. In the meantime, it looks like that plan faced a few changes and Jawbone is no more.
Jawbone co-founder and chief executive Hosain Rahman apparently moved to a company called Jawbone Health Hub, followed by many Jawbone employees as well. The rumors claim that this company plans to focus on health-related services and products. Given its name, there is little room for doubt here. However, these reports still have not been confirmed by Jawbone so far.
According to The Information (quoted by The Verge), the new company would also service existing Jawbone products once the original is gone. These being said, we just need to wait for the official announcement regarding Jawbone's demise to come out and this will probably happen in the coming weeks.
Codrut Nistor - Senior Tech Writer - 6324 articles published on Notebookcheck since 2013
In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
