Intel Core i9-powered full HD XPS 15 9570 coming to the US later this month
Your comments have shown that the XPS 15 9570 is a very popular Dell laptop, although there are still more configurations available for direct purchase in Europe than in the US. For example, customers based in Spain received two Intel Core i9-powered models about two weeks ago. Now, we finally hear that the US customers will have their wishes fulfilled soon and the full HD XPS 15 9570 will be available with the Intel Core i9-8950HK processor out of the box.
If you were wondering, we should make it clear that this is not a rumor. The confirmation has been published on Twitter yesterday by Alienware's co-founder Frank Azor. His message reads the following: "By popular request, more FHD XPS 15 configs are coming to the US site in about 2 weeks including i9."
Dell.com currently has two full HD XPS 15 9570 models for sale. The most basic one only provide a single hardware upgrade option — the ability to replace the SSHD with a 256 GB SSD — and is powered by the Intel Core i5-8300H processor, next to 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSHD, all for a price of US$999.99. The second configuration has a price tag of US$1,499.99 and sports an Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16 GB RAM, and a 256 GB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD. However, this model can be configured with a 4K touchscreen, and up to a 2 TB PCIe SSD.
Frank Azor received quite a few comments on Twitter over the last few weeks from users asking for an Intel Core i9 variant of the non-touch XPS 15 9570 model. Now that this is very close to becoming reality, Dell should start preparing the 4K touchscreen configuration with Intel Core i9 for the US market as well. In the meantime, take a look at the movie below showing an XPS 15 9570 with Intel Core i9-8950HK in action.
