ICS update starts rolling out for Transformer 1

Teaser
The release date of the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Transformer is still under confusion

It seems like the wait for the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Asus’s original Transformer tablet might get extended. There seems to be a date-related confusion on Asus’s Facebook Page.

The Taiwanese company even plans to release their quad-core Transformer Prime tablet in January which will be powered by Android 4.0. This news prompted some owners of the original (dual core) Transformer to inquire about the arrival of their update on the OS.

With this Asus Singapore responded saying they will provide the updated for the same, parallel to the release of the quad-core model.

But later Asus Singapore retracted the statement saying that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Transformer will be available around the end of this month. With this news Android Police contacted Asus directly and was subsequently furnished with another new date.

However, the Android Police reported that the owners of the original Transformer can expect to receive their Ice Cream Sandwich update by early February which will be only a bit late from the date they earlier furnished.

Although the date has not been confirmed for the release of the update but it is really nice to see Asus has made an effort to keep their earlier tablets up to date.
