Huawei Y6 2017 - Budget device with front flash

Chinese giants, Huawei, are set for the release of their new budget device, the Huawei Y6 2017.

The first iteration in the series, the Y6, was launched in 2015 to considerable success, and Huawei will be hoping to build upon that with the Y6 2017. The company has spread its influence towards the West African smartphone market, and this device is likely to cater to that demographic. Cheap and adequately-built, without sacrificing much in the way of performance.

The Y6 2017 comes with the quad-core entry-level MediaTek MT6737T processor, which is clocked at 1.4GHz—a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 210 present on the original version of the device. It ships with a 5” HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage memory and a 3000mAh battery.

Camera-wise, it boasts of a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP selfie shooter that comes, impressively, with a flash. It, however, does not have a fingerprint reader.

Prices are unconfirmed at the moment but the Y6 2017 is aimed at Huawei’s low-end market.
