Haier debuts the HaiPad tablet PC

Teaser
The device was reportedly launched today as part of a consumer electronics show in Qingdao, China

The China-based company has reportedly revealed its latest Tablet PC at an electronics show in Qingdao. The maker is mainly known for manufacturing larger home appliances and TVs but like many others, Haier has apparently decided to enter the already overcrowded Tablet PC market. Key features of the newly introduced HaiPad include a modified theme of Google’s Android operating system, a single core CPU and 3G.

According to various sources, this new tablet will be equipped with a 7-inch touch-screen enabled 16:9 display. In addition, the device is powered by a Samsung central processing unit that packs one core with a clock frequency of 1GHz.

This product will supposedly come with built-in Wi-Fi and 3G adapters so that its future owners can stay connected. Furthermore, users will be able to take advantage of Haier’s own app store, browse social media websites and stream movies.

The HaiPad will presumably come pre-loaded with a Google Android 2.2 theme modified by DianXin OS team. Notebook Italia claims that this new tablet will hit the shelves in August of this year and will be available in 5 colors.

There is still no pricing information.
