HP revamps the Pavilion dm1z as dm1

Teaser
After redesigning the Pavilion dm1z HP has come up with their latest HP Pavilion dm1 which has a lot of upgrades over the earlier version and is also available at only $445

The HP pavilion dm1z which was released about six months ago proved to be the savior for the company and filing up the space of their netbook section. But HP has been busy with redesigning the netbook during this summer. Now they have come up with the redesigned model and even changed its name by dropping the ‘z’ from its old name to Pavilion dm1.

This new model is almost has the same inner configuration except a few changes. Among them is the CPU which has been nudged to a 1.65 GHz AMD e-450 which was earlier E-350. The Ram has also got an upgrade from 3GB to 4GB and the GPU has also moved to the Radeon HD 6320m which was earlier 6310M.

Other specifications remain the same like the display with an 11.6inch screen which provides resolution up to 1366 x 768pixels.

Along with the inner change in specifications they also have made a lot of change to the design of the device. They outer changes can easily be detected from the first look at the device. If we say in the overall profile it is a bit streamlined and slicked up and the battery is no longer bulged out from the bottom of the device. The screen of this model also is capable of opening at 180degree angle.

A few more colors have been also added. They have also replaced the glitchy clickpad with a traditional touchpad with more discrete buttons. They have also introduced another significant update as the Beats audio although the internal speakers are nothing special it is mainly for the external speakers or headphones.

The battery life of the model has also been a bit upgraded and is said to be providing a backup of up to 5hours and 20minutes which is about 50minutes boost from the earlier version. This model weighs around 3.3 pounds.

So we surely can say that this model is a total makeover of the dm1z model but HP kept the model rather cheap and that is just $445. This model is surely capable of retaining the current top position of the HP pavilion dm1z as one of the best netbooks in the market.
