HP announces the ENVY Recline 23 and 27 TouchSmart all-in-one PCs

Teaser
The new PCs recline to lay almost flat on a desk

HP's newest all-in-ones, the ENVY Recline 23 and 27, are unlike anything we've ever seen. The PCs actually fold back and can even hang off the edge of a desk to bring the touchscreen closer to a users hands.

Both the 23-inch and the 27-inch models feature 1920 x 1080 Full HD touchscreens, a choice of Intel Haswell processors (up to Core i7), NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M discrete graphics, up to 16 GB RAM, up to a 1 TB hard drive, Beats Audio, 802.11 ac wifi, 2 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet port. The 27-inch version also has NFC.

While unusual, the demo video certainly makes the new design look appealing. There are other touch enabled AIOs on the market that blur the line between desktop and tablet (including Sony's recently announced VAIO Tap 21), but HP has gone in a different direction and decided to offer a more evolved desktop experience that doesn't try to be portable.

The ENVY Recline 23 and 27 TouchSmart all-in-one PCs will be available on September 6th. Prices start at US$999 for the 23-inch model and US$1399 for the 27-inch model. A Beats Edition of the 23-inch model with a red hinge will also be available in November for US$1099 and up.
