Is it worth the money? If you need a portable ISV-certified notebook, then certainly. No workstation laptop we’ve tested combines a chassis this slim and light with performance this fast. It stands at the pinnacle of workstation laptop design, with only the Dell Precision M3800 for (distant) company, a 3.2kg workstation laptop that can currently only be specified with a Haswell Intel Core i7. I know which I’d choose.

The price of this workstation will depend completely on the specs you choose to implement. Basic models begin at around $1,898.99 USD straight through HP. Looking for a device purely for entertainment and home computing? Look elsewhere. Looking for a computer that can do work primarily - all the work you're going to need to do during the day - then still have the space and the power to act as your entertainment unit as well? This is a real winner.

Too ambitious? The HP ZBook Studio G3 is the latest edition of the ZBook-series and follows the trend towards a slimmer device with powerful components. HP delivers a really good device in many aspects; however there are significant limitations in terms of emissions and the battery runtimes in particular.
80% HP ZBook Studio G3 Review: Is It Good for Business?

HP’s ZBook Studio G3 is powerful, but so are most competing workstation laptops. What sets this system apart is its relatively thin and lightweight design, which is surprisingly commuter-friendly. You also get a durable design, excellent security options and a comfortable keyboard. On the other hand, the ZBook Studio G3’s dim display is a bit disappointing, and so is its modest battery life.

The HP ZBook Studio G3 is certainly a multimedia and mathematical powerhouse. Though it's thin and light, it is set to serve the digital photographer, video maestro, geek scientist, or master builder who needs phenomenal computing power to solve daily dilemmas. It comes equipped with the tools to finish those projects fast, with 32GB of memory, a speedy SSD, and a CPU and GPU that are ISV certified. That said, the Dell Precision 15 5000 Series matches the ZBook Studio G3 on most benchmark tests and internal components, while only coming up short on its amount of memory.

Criticism accepted. HP does not touch the chassis of the ZBook Studio G4 and focuses on the internals. Our test model shows this was a good decision. The DreamColor display is also very good, and both the temperature as well as noise development are better than before. But you should not expect long battery runtimes.

HP ZBook Studio G4-Y6K15EA

The HP ZBook Studio G4 Y6K15EA is a multi-talent laptop. The screen offers enough space for pleasant work or use of multiple applications, and also films or games come into play while being small enough for easy transport. Thanks to its 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, images, and web pages are displayed clearly. When it comes to color accuracy, the optional 4K UHD display with HP DreamColor technology offers 8 million colors and accurate pixels, which means absolutely clear and intense images. Under the hood, the HP zBook Studio G4 Y6K15EA is equipped with a Core i7-7700HQ. The quad-core CPU also meets the minimum requirements of complex programs. The processor also has a turbo mode. In programs which need high CPU performance, the clock rate increases to up to 3.80 GHz. The processor is supported by 8 GB of RAM. This also allows demanding tasks to be carried out. The RAM can be further upgraded and supports up to 32 GB of RAM. The graphics card of the laptop is an Nvidia Quadro M1200. 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM support increasing the speed of the graphic card. The HP zBook Studio G4 Y6K15EA has an HP Z TurboDrive SSD with 256 GB of memory. It provides for particularly fast booting, and installed games and programs load noticeably faster. For design, the laptop has an aluminum body and a magnesium alloy, diamond-cut edges. It is only 18 mm thick and weighs 1.99 kg (4.4 lb). The laptop profits from two fans with active cooling designed specifically for heat dissipation from the graphics card and processor. The HP laptop features Bang & Olufsen HD stereo speakers and built-in microphone to bring bold, crisp and accurate audio. The laptop also has 720p HD webcam for convenience in video calling. The HP zBook Studio G4 Y6K15EA comes with the new Windows 10 Pro. Extensive enhancements and new features keep the operation simple, but it still offer more possibilities than before. In addition, various Windows devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs can be managed and integrated into networks more easily than ever before. HP's long-life lithium-ion with 4 cells ensures a long battery life and recharges quickly thank to HP's FastCharge technology. After only 30 minutes of charging time, up to 50% battery charge is available. The HP zBook Studio G4 Y6K15EA offers various interfaces to connect additional devices. There are HDMI and DisplayPort to connect additional monitors. On the sides of the laptop, there are a USB-3.0 port, an RJ-45 ethernet port, and Thunderbolt 3 ports. If you're a demanding power user, the HP ZBook is where the party's at. Between the Intel Xeon 1535M (7th Gen) processor and 32GB of ECC memory, it totally dominated our CPU benchmark. In addition to the powerful internals, the display is really colorful as well. It's also bright enough to easily combat glare and ambient light. Last but not least, the FastCharge feature is a blessing, as it reaches a full charge in a little under an hour. While there's a lot we like, we had a few gripes.

At more than $3,000, the HP ZBook Studio G4 is expensive even for a mobile workstation. Its larger cousin, the HP ZBook 15 G4, offers better computing performance at the same price point, so it's the workstation to buy unless weight is the most important factor. Still, maxing out the processor and memory options on the Studio G4 will result in a top-notch performer, and one that's arguably worth its expense if you need ISV certification and copious computing power in a slim package that can be upgraded with even better components in a few years.

Mobile workstation customers are arguably the most demanding of all laptop buyers, and certainly the least likely to see the dream of ultrabook slimness, 20-hour battery life, and raging horsepower packed into the same machine. That means the HP ZBook Studio G4 inevitably makes compromises (though not as many, we'd wager, as the dual-core-CPU'd ZBook 14u and 15u, which are aimed more at execs who need to view, but not create, complex models). To put it another way, we rewarded the ZBook 15 G4's speed and expandability with our Editors' Choice; the Studio, at least the non-DreamColor model seen here, falls an inch short.

HP ZBook Studio G8 hands-on
Source: Laptop Mag English
The ZBook Studio G8 is a workhorse content creator’s dream mobile workstation that now also has the gaming chops to possibly be a replacement for HP’s Omen gaming series of laptops. HP’s One Life, One Device motto seemed like a bold statement but, with just a couple of days of access to this first impression test unit, I can say definitively, it’s a statement HP is backing up with the ZBook Studio G8. MacBook? I don’t need a stinkin' MacBook.

The HP ZBook Studio G8 is the best enterprise laptop trying to be a gaming laptop, which I recognize is an accolade that doesn’t carry a lot of weight, since it’s really just HP in this niche space. Though, I think if HP iterated on this design and made it a more gaming-focused laptop on the software side, it would have serious potential to take on other chic-looking laptops with real gaming chops, like Razer’s Blade 15 or the MSI GS66 Stealth. But for now, I suspect there aren’t many people who’ve been holding onto their cash, waiting for this exact kind of laptop to arrive. If you’re a serious gamer who’s looking for something reliable and great, you should get Asus’ ROG Zephyrus G15 that costs nearly $1,000 less. It doesn’t have a 4K OLED, but its specs are more balanced for performance and cost efficiency. The ZBook Studio G8 is too costly to recommend, but I’m nevertheless excited about the future of this lineup.

70% HP ZBook Studio G8 review: Portable, powerful, and pricey
Source: Digital Trends English
HP has a complete line of portable workstations aimed at creators and engineering users, from the highly portable ZBook Firefly G8 to the seriously powerful ZBook Fury G8. Smack dab in the middle of the lineup is the ZBook Studio G8, a workstation aimed at gamers as much as creative professionals. Simply put, it’s not your typical portable workstation that’s large, heavy, and highly upgradeable. It’s targeted at the same people who might buy a Dell XPS 15, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme, or MacBook Pro. It’s also not an inexpensive laptop. I reviewed a configuration with the Intel Core i9-11950H vPro CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU that lists a whopping $6,863 as its retail price. As I’m writing this review, it’s priced at a still steep $4,392, though prices will fluctuate.

The ZBook Studio G8 succeeds at packing workstation-level components into a thin and light chassis. However, it does so at the cost of pure performance and expandability. In fact, other than a few professional features that may or may not be useful to the typical creator or even engineer, the ZBook Studio G8 doesn’t exceed some consumer 15-inch laptops like the Dell XPS 15 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 (which is actually more expandable than the HP). That makes the ZBook Studio G8 an odd laptop. It’s a great machine, no doubt about it. But it’s also horrendously expensive without adding much to justify the investment. Again, the ZBook Studio G8 is a great machine. It’s just too expensive compared to the competition.

The HP ZBook Studio G8 comes close to unseating the Dell Precision 5560 for our Editors' Choice award among lightweight mobile workstations, but the Dell retains the title for offering double the HP's maximum 32GB of memory and 2TB of storage. If you're content with those amounts, however, the ZBook Studio is a fantastic weight-saving alternative to the formidable ZBook Fury. And if you're into digital content instead of professional CGI rendering, engineering, or data science, the Studio's stellar performance and gorgeous OLED screen make it an easy Editors' Choice pick as a creative desktop replacement. The display's 60Hz refresh will disappoint avid gamers, but you can't have everything.

Love is a strong word I do not bandy about freely but, I am in serious like with the HP ZBook Studio G8. The $4,727 system is gorgeous, powerful, MIL-SPEC tough, and in my humble opinion is one of the best content creator laptops on the market. Oh, I forgot to mention, its OLED 4K touchscreen is bright, vivid and positively stunning. However, for the price, I wish the battery lasted longer and it didn’t run as hot. If you’re looking for longer battery life and just a scooch more power, the $2,999 MSI Creator Z16 is an option that’s loads cheaper. However, if you’re on the hunt for a durable, portable powerhouse the HP ZBook Studio G8 is the way to go.

For the ninth generation of its ZBook Studio mobile workstation, HP is using a larger 16-inch display in the 16:10 form factor, and the DreamColor screen now runs at 120 Hz. A Core i7-12800H and the professional Nvidia RTX A2000 provide sufficient performance.

80% HP ZBook Studio G9 review: A premium mobile workstation with multiple graphics options
Source: Zdnet.com English
HP's ZBook Studio G9 is a well built and configurable 16-inch mobile workstation, although venturing into the upper range of the many available options can get expensive. The audio subsystem and range of ports impress, but the 720p webcam is disappointing. Battery life is good for a powerful laptop, although our review unit was by no means a high-end configuration.

[REVIEW] HP ZBook Studio G9 - Everything is great but...
Source: Laptop Media English
The HP ZBook Studio G9 is not without its flaws. The build quality, features, and display selection are excellent, however, we would have loved to see more performance from the Core i7-12800H CPU, especially in prolonged tasks, as we think the vapor chamber can take more. However, if you’re not going to use it for video editing, the Studio G9 is still a beast. If you want to learn more about the HP ZBook Studio G9, you can go over to our website, which has a much more detailed review with more tests and information.

80% HP ZBook Studio G9 Review
Source: PC Mag English
If the HP ZBook Studio G9 is a terrific and relatively light content creation workstation, then why does it miss Editors' Choice honors? Well, the MSI CreatorPro X17 costs the same as our test unit with a larger 17.3-inch display, as well as a CPU and GPU that push it far ahead in our benchmarks. The M2 Max-powered 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro also outpaces the Studio G9 in several tests, and its $400 higher price gets you more memory, twice the storage, and four times the battery life. That's not to say we don't recommend the ZBook Studio G9. HP's workstation is as impressive a performer as last year's G8 was, especially given its choice of gaming rig or workstation GPUs. It's just that the competition has never been hotter, so creative pros, not laptop makers, are the real winners.

70% HP ZBook Studio 16 G10 Review
Source: PC Mag English
When it comes to mobile workstations, power is almost always the focus. And while HP's ZBook Studio 16 G10 definitely delivers power, we're even more impressed by its versatility. The durable chassis and built-in security are welcome additions for any workstation, and we love features like the customizable keyboard backlighting. We can't ignore some flaws such as the low-res webcam and the absence of HDMI and Ethernet ports, but the laptop still manages to be relatively portable without sacrificing raw power and performance. It stings even more to see these problems on such an expensive system. If you need a highly capable laptop for rendering or media work—and can swing the elite price—it's a worthwhile investment.

HP ZBook Studio 16 G10 review – finally, capable thin and light mobile workstation
Source: Laptop Media English
The HP ZBook Studio 16 G10 can be a wet dream for professionals who are constantly on the go and need a powerful workstation with capable cooling. The laptop boasts a strong build with a very smooth hinge mechanism, a modern design with thin bezels around the display, and comfortable input devices. The backlit spill-resistant keyboard has a long key travel and clicky feedback, and the glass touchpad is big and accurate, which is handy when you have to use the notebook whiteout an external mouse. The IPS display (BOE BOE0A4F) has a 16:10 aspect ratio (which is great for work because of the extra vertical space), wide viewing angles, a very good contrast ratio (16:10), and high maximum brightness. The thing that makes it good for content creation is the 94% sRGB color coverage and the lack of PWM usage.
