If the HP Spectre x360 13 seems too small and the HP Spectre x360 15 seems too big, then the upcoming HP Spectre x360 14 might be just right. The new model will be introducing both a 3:2 display aspect ratio and Intel Tiger Lake Core U processor options when it launches later this month.

Not to be outdone by Dell or Lenovo and their recent Tiger Lake refreshes, HP will be refreshing its premier Spectre family as well and it will even include a brand new family member. Called the Spectre x360 14, the convertible will carry the same design language as its smaller and larger siblings but in a special 3:2 form factor that should be more appropriate for content creators, editing, and word processing.

The new convertible promises all the features of Intel Evo including over 9 hours of battery life, under 1 second wake times, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and 11th gen Core CPU with Iris Xe graphics. However, keep in mind that the Spectre x360 14 display is actually just 13.5-inches and not 14-inches despite its namesake.

Comparisons between the latest Spectre and both the 13.4-inch Dell XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 and 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 will be inevitable. HP is boasting its 100% DCI-P3 OLED panel which is currently not available on the Dell or Microsoft alternatives and the higher screen-to-body ratio.

As for the future of the existing 16:9 Spectre x360 13, HP says that the Spectre x360 14 will complement the system instead of outright replacing it. The Spectre x360 13 will be getting similar internal 11th gen Core ix updates and even a 10th gen Core ix 5G variant in the coming months.

Expect the Spectre x360 14 to launch later this month on HP.com and then later in November at Best Buy stores starting at $1200 USD.
