The PC manufacturer is recalling laptop batteries once again. This time, the Palo Alto based company recalls 101,000 batteries, the recall from last summer included less then half of that amount.

For the second time in the span of a year, HP, the second biggest PC manufacturer of the world, is recalling thousands of laptop batteries, 101,000 batteries to be exact.

Affected are several different laptop brands: ProBook, Pavilion, Envy, Compaq Presario, HP as well as Compaq. Only units manufactured between March 2013 and October 2016 are affected, on these units, the battery can catch fire in affected machines. The serial numbers of the affected batteries are: 6BZLU, 6CGFK, 6CGFQ, 6CZMB, 6DEMA, 6DEMH, 6DGAL oder 6EBVA

This recall is an extension of last years recall, which was announced in June. HP recalled 41,000 batteries back then. Affected customers can contact HP via phone or online, HP is exchanging affected batteries for free, no matter how old they are. People who had their battery changed as part of the last recall are not affected.
