HP's Pavilion dv6-3160us may share some of the same look as the Envy but it certainly doesn't have quite the same feel. Performance and features are good especially the graphics and the company didn't skimp on the storage space. Boot times are a different matter thanks to all the preloaded software. Still, if you can't quite afford the Envy 14, this does make a suitable alternative.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650: Middle class DirectX 11 capable graphics card with a power consumption of about 15-20 Watt. Supports Eyevision (up to 6 monitors)
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

N950: Mobile Quad-Core CPU with 2.1 GHz clock speed. Because of the missing Level 3 Cache and no Turbo, the N930 is not well suited for games.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.6": 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.5 kg: This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
