The HP Pavilion G60-445dx should look familiar--that's because we reviewed a similar (and similarly named) dual-core HP Pavilion in our winter roundup, the HP Pavilion G60-235dx. Admittedly, that one came with an Intel T4200 Dual-Core processor.
For $549, the HP Pavilion G60-235dx has a mediocre processor and performance in a package that's not much of a bargain.

Oct 8 2009 - HP's G60-438nr is a special retail version of their G60 laptop that features a very low $500 price tag. What they have done is modify a few of the components put into the system to try and reduce the costs. This gives it a little less space and not as robust wireless networking compared to previous models. Still, if you don't require these features and want a laptop with a larger screen, the G60-438nr works just fine as a general purpose laptop.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.
In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G: The 8200 MG is a reduced 9100M G (only Single Channel memory and only PureVideo HD VP2).
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Onboard (shared Memory) GPU built in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset (Montevina). Because of two more shaders and a higher core clock, much faster than the old GMA X3100. Still not advisable for gamers (DirectX 10 games not playable or only with very low settings). The integrated video processor is able to help decode HD videos (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , e.g., for a fluent Blu-Ray playback with slow CPUs.

AMD Turion X2: The Turion X2 (without 64) is based on the Turion X2 Ultra, but has only 1024 MB L2 Cache and is therefore slower (performance compareable to the old Turion 64 X2). Because of new parts from the K10 architecture, the CPU should be more energy efficient.
RM-75:
Griffin based entry-level dual core processor. The cores are still based on the old K8 architecture (memory controller is newer).
Intel Pentium Dual Core: The return of the name Pentium, though it is a Yonah core. In fact, it is a double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption.
T4200:
Entry class dual core CPU with 1 MB level 2 cache and no virtualization technology. Compared to the Core 2 Duo line, some power saving mechanism are deactivated.

16.00:
This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.

2.2 kg:
3 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
57%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
