HP is going toe-to-toe with Lenovo in the business laptop market, positioning the HP Compaq nc6320 as a competitor to the ThinkPad T60. I think the T60 is still the superior system overall, but the nc6320 is a very enticing, lower-cost alternative, with just about everything a mobile professional could want. Although its 15-inch screen adds size and weight, it is still portable at 6.1 pounds (slightly lighter than the T60). And it is joining the pack of business notebooks that offer an integrated card for Verizon EV-DO high-speed cellular data network.

The HP Compaq nc6320 raises the bar when it comes to features offered on a business portable. There's wireless broadband, a dual-core processor, and configuration options galore. If you can't build a model that fits your business needs, you're not trying hard enough. The 15-inch LCD screen is bright and sharp. The 1,400-by-1,050 resolution on our model might be too high for some users, but HP offers lower-res panels as well. The 4:3 aspect ratio, however, will mean a tight fit when traveling. And since you'll see a noticeable color shift when viewed from above with the lid open less than 90 degrees, this could be an issue for commuters and frequent flyers.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 is an integrated (onboard) graphic chip on Mobile Intel 945GM chipset. It is a faster clocked version of the GMA 900 and supports no hardware T&L (Transform & Lightning) accelleration (which is required for some games).
Only older games can be played fluently with these graphics chips (if they were not too demanding). Shared memory graphic cores in this category got the advantage of less heat production and longer battery runtimes. For office, internet, image processing, and video editing tasks these graphics chips are still useable without any restrictions.

Intel Core Duo: Double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption. The 2 MB L2 Cache are used together by the double. The maximum capacity of 31 watts is only 4 watts more than with the Pentium M (predecessor). Both cores are lowered automatically and independently of each other by speed steps down to 1 GHz. In addition it now supports also SSE3 instructions. At least it is just as fast as a equivalent Pentium M. With applications, which were designed for multi-processors, the performance can be nearly twice as fast as with the Pentium M (e.g. CineBench around 86% fast)

15.1": 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. The 15.1 inch display is used for the 4:3 format and therefore is used not so frequently like the 15.4 inch format.
Meanwhile notebook displays with a format 4:3 are strongly replaced by 16:10 formats. The 4:3 format does not have explicitely disadvantages, rather it is a question of taste. When TV-watching on the notebook it is decisive, in which format the current programm is offered.
The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much current and the laptops can be kept quite compact.
>> To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.7 kg: This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
HP: HP is one of the biggest international manufacturers according market shares and reviewed models at the German- and English-speaking market. HP notebooks are often in top positions according price/value ratings.
80.2%: This rating is to be considered as average, because the amount of notebooks with better ratings is about equal like the amount with worse ratings.
