Reviews for the HP 15-ay116ng
Surprisingly good. The HP 15-ay116ng costs 500 Euros (~$532) - a lot of money for a simple office notebook. But the laptop has a lot to offer: a Kaby Lake processor, a Full HD display and an SSD. Added to this is very good battery life and low operating noise.

Model:
In just a few words, the HP 15-ay116ng model is all about striving for the perfect combination of design, reliability and features without the need of breaking bank. It’s a fairly affordable notebook with big aspirations for style and productivity. Measuring 38.43 x 25.46 x 2.43 cm and weighing 2.04 kg, it may not be the most portable machine out there for today’s standards, but it is still light enough to lug around. It is not thinner than its main competitors, and this is due to the fact that while other manufacturers have ditched the optical drive, HP still includes it in the HP 15. The attractive chassis is made of plastic with diamond-textured pattern that gives good grip without being a smudge magnet. The lid showcases HP’s logo emblazoned in black on silver, and opening the lid unveils a silver deck with soft crosshatch design.
The HP 15 features a 15.6-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is LED-backlit and surrounded by a thick black bezel. The display is sharp enough to give ample viewing pleasure for movies and photos from most angles. The screen has SVA anti-glare to reduce eye fatigue. And while it does not support touch, depending on a particular user’s needs this may not be such a huge deal breaker. Besides, a touchscreen will only serve to drive up the price of the notebook. Encased at the heart of the machine is a 7th generation Intel Core i5-7200U dual core processor. Paired with 4 GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 620, the HP 15 is guaranteed to perform competently without any noticeable lag when running the latest games on at least medium settings or low settings with high FPS. The 256 GB SSD supplies more than enough storage capacity for the average user.
For the keyboard, the HP 15 includes a full-size island-style keyboard with integrated numeric keypad, a must have for number crunchers. The individual buttons provide satisfying click and pleasant soft feel but they do not come with back-lighting. The spacious touchpad comes with multi-touch gesture support, providing smooth experience without any problems. The HP 15 also comes with an abundance of connectivity options, including one SD media card reader, an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.1 port, and an Ethernet port. The laptop also uses a removable 41 Wh lithium-ion battery with 4 cells, which delivers above-average battery life for a device at its price range. For the average user who requires performance without a fancy outlook, the HP 15-ay116ng will do just fine. It brings performance in a standard chassis for a reasonable price.

Intel HD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2) found on some Kaby-Lake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

78%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
