The Taiwanese PC hardware manufacturer, Gigabyte announced in a press release the introduction of 4 new portable devices. Reportedly, customers will be able to choose among a new Windows-based tablet, a notebook with rotating display and two speedy laptops, one of which, dubbed P2532F, is specifically targeted towards gaming and multimedia aficionados.

Designed for business and professional users, the S1081 tablet packs a 10.1 inch widescreen display and ships with a pre-installed copy of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system. Moreover, the maker has apparently decided to include an optical trackpad for enhanced “precision”.

The device houses an HDD with a storage capacity of 500GB or an optional SSD. In terms of connectivity features, the S1081 has USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA and Bluetooth 4.0. A built-in 1.3MP web camera is available for video conferencing. According to the press release, users can also purchase a Multimedia Docking Station that offers a DVD drive, two stereo and two woofer speakers as well as a number of additional ports.

Next in line is the T1006M convertible notebook that sports a capacitive multi-touch display, which measures 10.1 inches in diagonal and has a native resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels. In addition, this “compact and lightweight” portable PC is presumably based on Intel’s Atom Cedar Trail platform and delivers USB 3.0 functionality and a 6-cell battery. The T1006M is also 3.5G ready.

Gigabyte has further announced two high-performance laptops. The Booktop M2432 is reportedly a thin and light 14-inch notebook that can also be used as a desktop replacement by utilizing a separately sold docking station. According to the manufacturer, this model will be powered by a Sandy Bridge Intel Core i5 central processing unit that incorporates the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics controller. The above-mentioned docking station supposedly ships with the more powerful NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 desktop GPU (1GB of dedicated DDR5 VRAM), an HDMI interface, six USB ports, D-Sub and DVI.

The P2532F portable computer has a 15.6-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with a maximum resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels (Full HD) and packs a second generation Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU that has four processing cores clocked at 2.2GHz (the frequency goes up to 3.1GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0). In addition, this gaming notebook features an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics card (2GB VRAM), 8GB of internal DDR3 memory, a 750GB rotating hard disk drive, two USB 3.0 ports and dual-channel stereo speakers with subwoofer.

Pricing details are yet to be disclosed by the maker.
