According to reports from South Korean media, Samsung has settled on a date for the release of the Galaxy S23 series. To be unveiled at another Galaxy Unpacked event, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra are tipped to make their entrance in San Francisco before embarking on a global release.

South Korean newspaper Korea JoongAng Daily claims to have obtained about the hardware launch event for the Galaxy S23, currently expected to consist of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Unsurprisingly, Samsung will leverage another ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event, with the company content with re-using the name for every hardware launch event.

Citing an unnamed company executive, Korea JoongAng Daily asserts that Samsung will host the event in San Francisco rather than in Las Vegas at CES 2023. While there had been rumours that Samsung would use next year’s conference to showcase the Galaxy S23 series, others centred on another February refresh for Samsung’s flagship smartphones. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, its source confirmed the following:

The [Galaxy] S23 series will be shown during our own Unpacked event in the United States, which will be held in February.

Incidentally, the executive did not reveal when in February the event would occur. While the Galaxy S22 series arrived during the second full week of February, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra are all tipped to debut between February 1 and February 3. The trio should all feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets regardless of where you buy them too, unlike the current Galaxy S22 series, with the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus seemingly on target for larger batteries to boot.
