Galaxy Note 5 accessories suggest deployable stylus
The Galaxy Note 5 is again making headlines for its potential inclusion of an S Pen. This time, marketing images from accessory manufacturer Ringke are advertising Fusion Cases for the Galaxy Note 5 on Amazon. What makes these images notable is that the transparent covers indicate a fundamental change to how the S Pen could be attached to the smartphone.
The images show that the stylus will be anchored to the device and can be removed or inserted. This corresponds well to a patent we saw back in June, which detailed how a potential Samsung device could have a retractable stylus.
According to the earlier patent, the stylus would be held in place by magnets and can be ejected by simply reversing the polarity of the magnet. This would essentially make push-to-release mechanisms for styluses on other tablets and phablets obsolete. The head of the S Pen would fit seamlessly to the design of the Galaxy Note 5 according to the accessory images below.
The Ringke transparent covers will be available starting October 30, 2015.
