Future Asus laptops might carry integrated projectors

Teaser
Asus might feature a built in projector in its future laptops as they have filed a related patent

According to a recent patent filed by Asus, their future laptops might have built in projector. With this new concept you will be able to use the device as a regular laptop as it is integrated with an LCD screen, but along with that you will also be able to use the projector to blow up the image on a screen or any wall.

The patent application was uncovered recently by Patent Bolt however the patent was filed over a year ago. This system will be capable of working in a different ways as the projector could be built into the hinge connecting the laptop base to the screen.

According to this design the laptop will have to be placed in a way, as described in the image. The screen will be opened at a 270 degree angle, and the laptop will stand up like a stand making a triangle with the base. Then the projector in the joint will be placed in front of the screen to display videos.

It is also expected that in order to keep the laptop from slipping from the standing position the design would feature a non-skid surface on the edge of the computer. Apart from this design there is another design which features a tiny pico projector tucked into the side of the display. So whenever the user wants to use the projector he just needs to flip up the tab and point the lens at the display surface.

Although many companies have filed different kind of patents on product designs but all of them never actually come to the market. Could it be the future for these projector laptops too? Will we be ever able to see laptops with projectors from Asus?
