Facebook for iPad now official

A native Facebook application is finally released for the iPads

Finally a native iPad application for Facebook, along with a lot of improvements to the Facebook Platform design which is specially designed to support mobile Web applications.

The social networking company was said to have been ready with the iPad application for several months, as it was said at F8 developer conference last month. Reports suggest that as Apple and Facebook were on-going negotiations that aimed to reconcile conflicting platform policies which lead to the absence of the iPad application from the event.

This Facebook application for the iPads is more tactical and allows the users to swipe through photo albums, which also has the advantage of the large viewing area. A left hand navigation panel is also added in this application which makes it easy for interaction with the various Facebook features. This application also supports chatting, games and the ability to view high resolution videos. This application iPad is available through Apple’s iTunes Application Store.

Bookmarks, Requests, and News Feed are the social channels that are also enhanced with the Facebook Platform enhancements. The Bookmarks, offer an easy way to engage with applications developed on the Facebook. Earlier it was possible only while accessing Facebook through desktop browsers.

According to Facebook they have 350million users who access its site every month using mobile devices, and out of them half of their users use a native application and the other half through Web applications. So, it encourages them to build both native and web applications with the help of their developers.
