Facebook Watch - Watchlist section
Facebook's video platform called Watch is now official, although some of the details are not public yet and the service is on a limited rollout in the US. However, full availability is expected soon.

Those who consider Facebook a social network and nothing more should better thing again because a new platform for shows has just been unveiled. Simply dubbed Watch, this piece of code promises to be available in Facebook's TV apps, as well as on mobile devices and PCs.

Facebook Watch comes with a set of features suggesting that the social media giant is ready to deliver original video content. Obviously, this means that the tools needed by media creators are also ready to roll out. Facebook's news article about this service highlights the following types of shows:

  • Live shows that connect with fans
  • Shows that engage fans and community
  • Shows that follow a narrative/have a consistent theme
  • Live events that bring communities together

Unfortunately, only "a limited group of people in the US" have access to Facebook Watch, next to a limited group of creators that would get access to Shows. The plan is to fully unleash the service soon, so those who do not get early access can only wait.
