Doogee boasts high-speed camera focus on upcoming F3 smartphone
Doogee is about ready to launch its F3 smartphone range and is taking every opportunity to promote the device whenever possible.
One of these features is the rear camera on the F3, which the manufacturer claims uses the same Samsung S5K3M2XXM3 sensor as on the Galaxy S5, Vivo X5 Pro, Oppo R7, and even the iPhone 6. The sensor notably includes phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), which allows the smartphone to focus on objects in just one-tenth of a second.
The handy video comparison shows the auto-focus in action compared to competing iPhone, Huawei, and Meizu devices. The focus works quickly as advertised, though the actual camera quality is another matter. It's unfortunate that Doogee uploaded the video no higher than 720p30 as this makes it more difficult to compare video quality between the smartphones.
The Doogee F3 is coming this September and will start at $169 for the 3 GB model. A lower-end 2 GB model will also be available and even a higher-end 4 GB model with Snapdragon 810 SoC and QHD display. No matter the option, all F3 configurations will be visually identical 5-inch smartphones with voice assistance and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Their cameras, however, may differ between configurations.
